Our RootsRoom To Grow was established in 1990 to serve the varied early education needs of our local communities. In the beginning, the focus was to provide quality programs based on traditional, theme based curriculum while offering well equipped learning centers for play and exploration. In example, our preschool curriculum has always included (and still does) dramatic play, block building, library, science exploration, tactile table, easel, art, music and movement, outside play, field trips, cooking, circle time, self help skills, social responsibility, finger plays, puppetry, and manipulatives. Shadow play and a light table have been recently added to the classroom. Communication between parents and teachers has always been valued and encouraged. Furthermore, the importance of recruiting & maintaining dedicated, caring, professional staff has always been understood and appreciated. |
Our Vision Since becoming inspired in 2001 by the Reggio Emilia approach to education, we have been expanding the vision at Room To Grow . . . raising the bar. Reggio Emilia is a city in Italy where this philosophy originated 30+ years ago.
We continue to study and apply this highly regarded approach and continue to weave this philosophy into our already strong fabric at Room To Grow. Please peruse our entire website to become familiar with what is currently happening in our community. Visit often, ask questions . . . and consider joining us on our journey towards excellence as we all find “room to grow”. Blessings, Judy DeLorenzo, Founding Director |
